Good morning, 🌟 On Wednesday night we attended to the Crimebeat Celebration Evening!🌟
During the evening we heard inspiring stories all about the work of local PCSO's and different clubs around Cheshire, who have worked with Cheshire Crimebeat to put on local initiatives for children and young people.
We were proud to hear of the great work of South Cheshire ABC Boxing Club (based in Crewe) and that of Cheshire Ghost Riders BMX Club (also based in Crewe) who we've also worked closely with over the years. For both Crewe clubs, the young people attended as representatives and did their clubs proud. The boxers even gave a small demonstration of their skills on the evening, and due to the lack of space inside, a video show cased the impressive skills of the young people at the BMX club.
🌟 On the night, High Sheriff awards were presented to two of your local Crewe PCSO's Lizzie Jolley 22582 & Jess Street 21618 for their partner working with Cheshire Ghost Riders BMX Club. Various projects have been done with the support of the amazing volunteers at the club. The evening celebrated the time and dedication of the volunteers, as without them none of this would have been possible. 🌟
🌟 It was also exciting to hear them announce that we have been successful with the full £1000 applied for in our recent funding application, that will sponsor local Crewe children getting into BMXing. (Referrals will be made by local PCSO's and PC's for this opportunity. )🌟
We really believe in supporting local young people to reach their full potential, and understand that not all children and young people will have the same support at home. Sports like BMXing and Boxing have and will help divert local young people away from anti-social behaviour and crime, and into something skilled and amazing.
Thank you for inviting us to join the evening and for celebrating the local young people and volunteers in Crewe. Sometimes local young people get a bad rap, however we know that there is only a small amount of young people actually mis-behave. The rest of the local young people are an asset to our local town, and this should be recognised. Our local Crewe Police Facebook page has some photo's from the evening if you wish to see them, feel free to head to our page!
Stay safe. PCSO Lizzie Jolley 22582 Crewe Police
