Schools Cyber Safety and County Lines input.

We carried out a few schools inputs yesterday - Tuesday 10th June - Check out the links which will provide further advice on keeping your children safe whilst online -

πŸ₯Έ β€˜Cyber Sid’ had his final session with reception, year 1 and year 2 at Neston Primary School'.

πŸ‘€ The input was all about 'Playing Games' and how people online may not always be truthful about who they are, the importance of keeping our personal information personal and who to tell if you are worried about something you have seen online.

πŸ‘ The session was started with a quick recap of our previous sessions and it was great at the amount of information the children had remembered.
Also as usual, the children didn't disappoint with engagement, with everyone getting involved in the question and answer session, singing and dancing.

To find out more about what we have discussed in these sessions, watch the video and find out more information in general for keeping children safe online Jessie Friends videos

Year 3 / 4 / 5 took part in a Data and use of Social Media input at Bishop Wilson Primary School.

The session covered:
πŸ”Ή how mobile phones work including data storage
πŸ”Ή social media
πŸ”Ή the mindset of adolescents and why we behave as we do online
πŸ”Ή and who to speak to about our concerns.

There was also a little input on AI and how photographs that parents/others post on social media platforms and how that information, including can be manipulated by AI and used by other people.

We have also had an input on 'Cyber Bullying & Internet Safety' with year 6 at Bishop Wilson Church of England Primary School.

This topic covered details of a real life case involving a 14 year male who, whilst pretending to be someone else, was bullying girls in his own school for inappropriate photgraphs of themselves.

The session covered:
πŸ”Ή how the investigation was carried out and he was identified
πŸ”Ή how mobile phones work including data storage
πŸ”Ή social media
πŸ”Ή the mindset of adolescents and why we behave as we do online
πŸ”Ή the law
πŸ”Ή and who to speak to.

There was also a little input on AI and how photographs that parents/others post on social media platforms are now being used by others to bully, manipulate and coercively control their children.

πŸ˜ƒ We also gave Year 6 an eductional presentation on 'County Lines'.

This is a really important topic for our children in explaining exactly what it is, the signs to look out for and how to protect and keep themselves safe.

However, what we are able to provide, content wise, is limited so it is suggested that they discuss this topic at home, with parents and carers further.
