Winsford Town Council will be holding an event at the Marina Island to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day on 8th May 2025.

The evening will bring the community together to honour those who fought for freedom during World War II and is a part of a national initiative with events up and down the country.

Those attending the event are invited to gather from 9:00pm onwards at the Marina island for a performance by the Band & Drums of the Cheshire Constabulary. 

At 9:30pm, the town’s beacon will be lit as a symbol of remembrance, which will be part of the lighting of beacons across the country.
