Do not hide keys under the plant pot or door mat – Use a key safe or install a keyless access.Letterbox fishing – Keep keys away from letterboxes, out of view and stored in a safe place.Social media – Thieves often trawl social media, be mindful of what you post and do not let people know when you are away from the home.Keep cash in the bank – Do not keep large amounts of cash in the home.Keep calendars out of sight – Burglars can look through the window and see when your home will be emptyDon’t leave presents under the tree – Burglars may see presents under the tree and identify you as a potential target. Recycle packaging – Packaging can be an indicator that you have expensive items in the home and make you a target. Garden and garage security – Make sure you still check your garage even though you may not be using it as regularly. Hide expensive gifts – Burglars will look for the ‘big ticket’ items and target homes specifically for these items.
