Rogue Traders

Residents are reminded to be wary of Rogue Traders , who call uninvited at homes and then offer to carry out work .

Cheshire Police have recently received a report of males calling at an address in Church Lane , Great Sutton .

They initially offered to clean the gutters for £40 and then took it upon themselves to inspect the roof , which they claimed needed work to the total of £600 .

Fortunately the resident did not agree to the work on the roof .

Police advice is to never buy goods or services from “cold callers” such as this .

Always seek advice from a reputable company who has been recommended to you .

Do not pay up front or feel pressurised into having work done .

Please keep an eye on any elderly or vulnerable neighbours as they can be targeted by Rogue Traders .

Report anything suspicious to the police (101 or 999 if an emergency) .
