On the historic date of 6th June 1944, the world witnessed an extraordinary display of courage, sacrifice, and unity as Allied forces launched the largest seaborne invasion in history, known as the D-Day landings. This monumental operation, alongside airborne operations, marked the dawn of the liberation of France and Western Europe.

To honour the bravery of those who served and sacrificed on that fateful day, Winsford Town Council invite you to join them at the Marina Island for a special remembrance ceremony on Thursday 6th June 2024 at 9:15pm for the lighting of a beacon.
