Outbuilding broken into - Buxton Old Road - Disley

Dear Disley Resident,

This message is to inform you that an outbuilding has been broken into on Buxton Old Road. The offender/s gained entry between 08:30 on 25/04/24 and 14:45 on 25/04/24.

Offender/s have entered the unlocked outbuilding and stolen a TV, golf clubs, projector, simulator, laptop, compressor, golf mats, white projector screen and football memorabilia. The TV was found on Dane Hill Close Play Area near to the garages on Dane Hill Close.

If you believe that you have seen anything or have any CCTV that has captured the offenders please contact the officer in the case on 101 and quote IML1808745 alternatively you can e-mail the Macclesfield policing unit mail box on macclesfield.lpu@cheshire.pnn.police.uk.

below are some ideas to prevent this happening to you.

When you go out, always lock the doors and windows.

Put your garden tools away, these provide an easy way to force entry to your house.

Make the house appear occupied, draw the curtains and leave a light on.

Don't leave spare keys outside or keys in outbuilding/garage doors.

Keep keys away from the letterbox to stop burglars ‘fishing’ for them.

Use timers for lights and radios if you need to be away from home overnight.

Don’t leave your bin out where they can be used as a step to climb a wall, fence or gate.

Have a neighbour check that milk bottles, parcels and post are not left outside or near the letterbox.

Visible burglar alarms, good lighting, and carefully directed and limited security lighting can act as deterrents.

If your car has keyless entry, consider purchasing a faraday bag that blocks the signal preventing thieves from using the signal to get in to your car.
